2008 ARLIS/NA Texas-Mexico Chapter Annual Meeting

The Chapter is currently planning the 2008 meeting to take place in conjunction with the 22nd Guadalajara International Book Fair/22 Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara (FIL), which runs from 29 November-7 December. The Chapter will meet from Sunday to Wednesday, November 30-December 3.

In addition to FIL and ALA events, highlights will include visits to the University of Guadalajara Museum and the Instituto las Cabanas Cultural Museum, an excursion to Tialquepaque (famous for its pottery and blown glass), and a tour of Jose Clemente Orozco murals by his grandson, Clemente G. Orozco.

American Library Association Free Pass Program

• Program benefits courtesy FIL:
  • Three nights at the Plaza del Sol Hotel (or six nights sharing a room with a colleague)
  • Three breakfasts
  • FIL 2008 registration fee
  • $100 USD contribution towards the cost of the airfare, courtesy of ALA.
• Applicants for the Free Pass program must be personal and current members of ALA
